01

The classroom problem

Reading practice in a second language stalls in two places. A text pitched at the wrong level loses the weaker reader and bores the stronger one, and comprehension tasks that demand typed answers test spelling and stamina as much as understanding.

Teachers also need texts that match the lesson actually being taught — not a library that tests next term’s vocabulary early — and evidence they can share with leaders and families.

02

The response

Every text is written for its curriculum lesson and checked against the official vocabulary, then offered at three levels — Support, Core and Stretch — for the 16 grade-and-stream sets of Cycles 2 and 3. Unit titles, lesson names and vocabulary marked Official CCG come from the Ministry guides; the texts and questions are original.

Before reading, students look at the title and two pictures, then warm up by matching key words to their meanings — a correct pair shows the Arabic. While reading they can listen, highlight in four colours that each have a reading job, and answer questions — sort, choose, find the evidence, order, true/false/not given — entirely by tapping.

Teachers create classes and give students a class code and PIN, put a lesson on the board in projector mode — Look, Words, Match, Read, Questions, Wrap-up — and print class reports for leaders and student reports for parents, in English, Arabic or both.
