Identity Guidelines

The mark, the palette,
and how to use them well

A short reference for every place this identity shows up — the quill mark, its colors and type, and the rules that keep it consistent from a favicon to a printed certificate.

أ. مراد المكي
01 — The Mark

A quill, a nib, an open book

The mark is built from three ideas layered into one continuous shape: authorship, precision, and the classroom itself.

Full color icon mark
  • The featherWriting, ideas, and thought leadership — rendered in two tones so it reads as a single gesture, not two separate shapes.
  • The nibPrecision, mastery, and academic standards. The negative-space line down its center is deliberate — keep it visible whenever the mark is used above 40px.
  • The colorsNavy carries authority and trust; gold marks craft and distinction. Never swap their roles.
02 — Color

Palette

Three colors, used consistently everywhere. Click any swatch to copy its hex value.

Pairing rule

Fraunces carries the name. Never set the subtitle or body copy in Fraunces — it's reserved for the wordmark and section headlines only.

Tracking

Subtitle text ("Teacher Toolkit") is always set in gold, uppercase, with generous letter-spacing — roughly 0.2–0.25em.

Arabic

أ. مراد المكي — with the definite article ال, always. Never مراد مكي.

04 — Logo Files

Variants & downloads

Six production-ready files. Pick the one built for the surface you're placing it on — don't recolor a variant to fit; use the one made for that background instead.

05 — Spacing

Clear space & minimum size

Give the mark room to breathe, and don't shrink it past the point it can still read.

Clear space diagram

Minimum clear space on all sides equals the width of the nib (X). Keep text, edges, and other elements outside this zone.

06 — Usage

Do & don't

The mark stays consistent by staying simple. When in doubt, use it exactly as delivered.

Do
  • Use the reversed (ivory) version on navy or any dark background.
  • Maintain clear space equal to the nib's width on every side.
  • Use the single-color navy version for one-color print or engraving.
  • Scale the mark proportionally — lock width and height together.
  • Use the app icon and circular badge files exactly as provided, backgrounds included.
Don't
  • Recolor the mark outside navy, gold, or ivory.
  • Place the full-color version directly on navy or a busy photo.
  • Stretch, skew, or distort the proportions.
  • Add drop shadows, outlines, or bevel effects.
  • Include a school name in any product or app-facing lockup.
