The classroom problem
Candidates preparing at home for the redesigned TOEFL iBT need practice in the new format, an honest sense of where they stand, and material they can also work through on paper.
Commercial courses are expensive, and much of the free practice still follows the old format.
The response
The studio presents Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking in the format introduced on 21 January 2026, as timed, interactive practice with Check, Hint and Reset, a question navigator and Practice, Exam and Focus modes.
Reading passages sit side by side with their questions. Each Listening item has a “Show script” option, which Exam mode locks until submission. Speaking records the candidate’s answer for self-scoring, and a Mistake Notebook and Word Bank carry the work between sessions.
Ten practice forms are listed. Test 1 is open to everyone; Tests 2–10 are unlocked with an access token after Google sign-in. A Print Centre holds four A4 books covering the first five forms.

Curriculum, print and privacy
- Curriculum
- TOEFL iBT, format from 21 January 2026. Test 1: Reading 50 items (30 min), Listening 47 (29 min), Writing 12 (23 min), Speaking 11 (8 min).
- Four A4 PDFs in the Print Centre — Student Test Book, Audio Script Book, Answer & Scoring Guide and a Complete Package — titled “5 Full Practice Tests · 2026 Edition”, plus a printable score report for each form.
- Accessibility
- Listening is voiced by the device’s own text-to-speech; there are no studio recordings. Scripts can be shown on screen.
- Privacy & data
- Progress is saved in the browser and can be exported. Google sign-in is used only to unlock Tests 2–10.
- Exam boards
- Independent practice material. TOEFL iBT® is a registered trademark of ETS; this studio is not affiliated with or endorsed by ETS. Scores are practice bands for tracking progress — not official ETS scores, and not score predictions.
Evidence
- Measured outcomes
- No equivalence study has been made. Practice bands (1–6 per section, averaged to the nearest half band) are a transparent way to track progress, not a prediction of an official TOEFL score.
- Verification
- Checked on the live site, 9 October 2026: ten forms listed, Test 1 open (Tests 2–10 token-gated; their content was not inspected), side-by-side reading, Listening scripts, text-to-speech audio, the Print Centre’s four PDFs, practice-band scoring and the ETS disclaimer. The 2026–2027 edition describes five forms; the live site now lists ten.
